System of Active Stability (SAS)

Toyota original

Toyota's signature stability system. An onboard computer continuously watches the truck — locking the rear axle on turns, controlling mast tilt speed at height, and synchronising the steering wheel to the rear wheels. Stable trucks lift more, faster, more often.

  • Active Control Rear Stabiliser — locks rear-axle swing during turns
  • Active Mast Function Controller — limits forward tilt by lift height & load
  • Active Mast Tilt-Speed Control — slows mast at height to prevent spills
  • Active Steering Synchronizer — wheel angle always matches rear wheels

Operator Presence Sensing System (OPS)

A switch sensor in the operator's seat detects whether the driver is in position. Step out of the seat and travel power and load-handling stop instantly. Zero training required — it just works.

  • Travel interrupt when operator leaves the seat
  • Lift, lower and tilt all halted
  • Key-lift interlock — no lift-down unless the key is on
  • Note: OPS does not apply the brakes; standard parking process still applies

vs 7-Series

The 8 Series 3.5 – 8 t models pair a new 2-stator torque converter with Load-Sensing Power Steering (LSPS) — adjusting hydraulic flow to the actual rear-axle load instead of running flat-out. The result is 20% less fuel on the 8FG45 and 10% less on the 8FD45 compared to the previous generation.

  • 2-stator torque converter — optimal drive power, no gear-change
  • Load-Sensing Power Steering on 3.5 – 8 t models
  • Eco-mode (optional) — restricts acceleration for further savings
  • Engine Auto-Stop (optional) — kills the engine if you leave the seat with parking brake on

Built around the operator

Designed from the workplace perspective: small-diameter steering wheel, optimised display position, angled backrest stay — all giving the operator a clear view of the fork tips and the area around the truck. Comfortable operators are accurate operators.
